Policies and Procedures

Enjoy Texas lodging at its finest when you stay at the Sage Hill Inn & Spa. We strive to make your accommodations in the Texas Hill Country second to none. When you leave, we want the experience you had at Sage Hill to hold a special place in your heart that will bring you back to us again and again. We ask our guests to abide by the rules listed below during your stay.

Rates, Taxes, and Gratuities

A continental breakfast and a $75 daily food and beverage credit are included with every stay. With expanded breakfast, lunch, poolside bites, dinner, and wine menus, guests can enjoy a personalized dining experience without ever having to leave the property. A deposit is needed to reserve a room and any remaining balances will be automatically charged to the card that was provided upon making the reservation by 3pm on the day of arrival and by 11am on the day of departure.

Check-in and Check-out

Please stop by the Front Office for check-in instructions and a tour around the property. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, with dinner seating from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Please let us know if you will be late so we can make arrangements for your dinner to be delivered to your room.

Check-out time is 11:00 am. Please feel free to ask us about accommodating an earlier arrival or a later departure.

Deposits

One night’s deposit is required for your reservation. We accept Visa, MC, American Express, and Discover. The balance is due upon arrival. Your deposit will be refunded as a gift certificate if cancelled between 14 days prior to 3 days prior. For group bookings the deposit and cancellation policy will vary, please call our front desk for a direct consultation.

Cancellations

For cancellations made 14 days or more prior to arrival your deposit is refundable minus a $25 processing fee. For cancellations made less than 14 days to 8 days prior to arrival, the deposit is no longer eligible for a cash refund but will be converted into a gift certificate for later use. Any cancellations made 7 days prior are not eligible for a refund and the guest will be charged the full balance of the room. Weekend stays require a minimum two-night booking that includes both Friday and Saturday. One-night stays are permitted Sunday through Thursday.

Meals

A continental breakfast and a $75 daily food and beverage credit come with every stay — with expanded breakfast, lunch, poolside bites, dinner and wine menus, guests can create their own dining experience without the need to drive into town. Breakfast is served from 8:30 am – 10:00 am daily. Dinner reservations are held between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Lunch is served between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Our restaurant has also been recognized as one of the top dining experiences in the Austin area, and the menu leans on locally sourced and garden-grown ingredients.

Soft drinks, bottled water, and all the homemade cookies you can eat. Please note that we do communal seating due to limited space in the dining room. If you or anyone in your party has dietary restrictions/food allergies please notify us as soon as possible. View our menu for dietary considerations.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates purchased through the Sage Hill Inn & Spa are redeemable one year from date of issue. Please call us at 512-268-1617 to purchase a gift certificate. Third-party gift certificates cannot be redeemed for group reservations (over two-person occupancy), and cannot be redeemed in combination with any promotions, offers or special deals. A maximum of 3 third-party gift certificates can be redeemed at check-in.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping services are by request only and all requests must be made by 11am each day.

Additional Guests

There is a $50 per night charge for each additional guest over the base two-person occupancy except for Ranch which based on a four-person occupancy. To preserve the resort-like peace and quiet, we ask that you do not have guests of your own, not staying at the inn, on the grounds during your stay without permission from the front desk.

Children

We welcome children 16 and older. The only exception to this policy is if you have reserved the entire Inn for a wedding or family reunion, in which case children of all ages are welcome.

Smoking

There is no smoking allowed indoors. We ask that our smoking guests avoid disturbing others and dispose of their cigarettes in the trays provided outdoors.

Pets

Sorry, pets cannot be accommodated. The only exception being service animals that assist with a disability.

Alcohol

The Restaurant at Sage Hill serves wine and beer. Wine and beer service is available whenever the restaurant is open. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine as well; a nominal corkage fee applies. Open containers and glasses of alcohol are not allowed to be brought into the restaurant. There is no liquor permitted in the dining room at any time but can be enjoyed elsewhere on the property.

Spa Appointments

Spa appointments can be booked any day of the week for guests of the Inn, availability will vary. Day guest appointments for the Spa only are available Sunday through Friday depending on availability. Day guests are welcome to enjoy the pool and hiking trails between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm with an appointment. All appointments are subject to a 24 hour cancellation window wherein the guest is liable for the full amount of the spa service.

About the Inn

All of our rooms are equipped with TVs with streaming channels, free wireless internet, and a refrigerator stocked with water, sparkling water, and soda. Additional beverages are available for purchase. Smoking is not permitted in any of our rooms. Please be aware that we do not have a elevator available and all second and third floor rooms are accessible by stairs only. View our Accessibility Policy for more information.

Covid-19 Liability Disclaimer

Sage Hill Inn & Spa cannot prevent you [or your spouse, family, or child(ren)] from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while utilizing Sage Hill’s services or premises including but not limited to our rooms, pool area, grounds, restaurant, spa or anything else related to the Sage Hill Inn & Spa. It is not possible to fully prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to utilize Sage Hill Inn & Spa’s services and/or enter onto our premises you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: By staying with Sage Hill Inn & Spa, you agree to have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19 and hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to utilize Sage Hill Inn & Spa’s services and enter our premises. These services are of such value to you that you are accepting the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to utilize Sage Hill Inn & Spa’s services and premises in person.

WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: By booking a reservation with Sage Hill Inn & Spa, I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against Sage Hill and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to utilizing Sage Hill’s services and premises. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.

CHOICE OF LAW: I understand and agree that the law of the State of Texas will apply to this contract. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS RELEASE, AND FREELY AND KNOWINGLY ASSUME THE RISK AND WAIVE MY RIGHTS CONCERNING LIABILITY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.

Our property is located on land protected under a wildlife exemption, which helps preserve native habitats and encourages biodiversity. We provide water stations and feed to support local wildlife, creating a sanctuary for deer, birds, and other Hill Country creatures. Our guests often enjoy seeing these animals peacefully roaming the property—a beautiful reminder of the balance we strive to maintain with nature.

Electric Vehicle Charging

We’re proud to offer Level 2 EV chargers for our guests. Whether you’re driving a Tesla or another electric vehicle, you can recharge while you relax, knowing that your stay is helping to support the transition to cleaner transportation.

Rainwater Collection

Water is a precious resource in our region, and we’re proud to do our part in conserving it. Our on-site rainwater collection tanks capture and store rain runoff, which we use to water our gardens and landscaping. This helps us reduce our reliance on municipal water and ensures our grounds stay lush and beautiful year-round with minimal environmental impact.

Thoughtful Laundry Practices

Instead of handling laundry on-site, we partner with a local eco-conscious laundry service. This allows us to significantly reduce water and energy consumption while supporting another small business that shares our values of efficiency and care.
